A better SEO plugin | alternate to All In One SEO

The Problem

If you are a WP desinger and are interested in SEO, you have surely heard of the All In One SEO plugin. I have personally been using it for years, and it works great. However, there are few things I am not digging in the recent updates. They are:

  • Update plugin nag screens – this appears quite often, since there are many updates to this software. These notifications are confusing and overwhelming to a user managing their site.
  • Donation screens-  while this is fine to encourage, shouldn’t this go away for those that have made a donation? There is no way to get rid of this.
  • Theme ads – there are now ads for themes within the plugins interface. What designer wants their client shopping for websites through the admin panel?

So, while the plugin still has a great deal of value, there are just some things that I would rather not have my clients deal with. It can cause confusion and I strive my best to avoid that for my clients.

The solution?

Well, Alec over at FolioVision.com has updated the All In One SEO plugin and created the FV All In One SEO plugin – you can check it out here:

Alec’s update corrects all of the issues I had with the plugin and even has a couple more built in features, such as using excerpts for descriptions and removing the keywords component (since Google admits they don’t care about keyword meta tags any more).

A big thank you to Alec for the updated plugin. Hope you might find some value in it to for yourself or your clients.
